
Biography :
Dr. Belal Hossain is an infectious disease epidemiologist and public health researcher with more than a decade of experience in ecology and epidemiology of infectious disease, outbreak investigations, and global health research. He earned his PhD in Disease Ecology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and previously served as an Assistant Scientist at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b). His research interests include ecology and epidemiology of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, climate-sensitive health threats, zoonotic spillover, and health disparities, with extensive experience in interdisciplinary and international collaborations. Dr. Hossain has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and has contributed to public health surveillance, outbreak response, and evidence-based policy development in South Asia and beyond. He has held academic appointments in public health in the United States and actively contributes to global scientific initiatives through research, teaching, peer review, and international collaborations.
